Marmadukes (City Centre)

DATE OF VISIT    Early 2015

We were a bit late for breakfast, and therefore chose from the daytime menu. This place is usually very busy, but we managed to find a table without much of a wait.

We ordered from the menus on the table at the counter. We chose Derbyshire Homity Pie (him) with a choice of one of the side salads on display in the counter (all looked delicious), and Eggs Florentine (her).

Coffees were served almost immediately, not the biggest cups, and not much left by the time we finished our meals. Food arrived after a short wait, (all food is freshly cooked) due to a momentary lapse on our part, we ordered Eggs Benedict by mistake – this was efficiently and quickly remedied by the friendly waiting staff.

Food was piping hot, lovely fresh ingredients, not a “belly-buster” but nonetheless very, very tasty.

Additional upstairs seating is due to be opened shortly.

OTHER NOTES    Wait to be seated, pay on ordering.
