DATE OF VISIT Spring 2017
Having seen this on a “10 best brunch venues in Sheffield” list we headed down to give it a try. It’s located in the Peddlers Market area, and is housed in what appears to be an old industrial unit.
It was quiet when we arrived just after opening, but the people just kept pouring in, and soon there was not a table to be had. First thing we noticed was the rack of freshly baked breads available to be purchased for take away (we bought two for later on). The bakery itself was in the next room of the unit, and was a hive of activity as they were making up some of the menu items.
We found a table and ordered at the counter, there are menus on the tables and some on the board behind the counter. We chose one Eggs Benedict (on sourdough toast with ham hock, leeks and spinach!) and one wild mushrooms on sourdough toast (with a creamy mustard sauce with shallot), both of which looked and tasted the part. Coffees were good and hot and lasted the duration.
Food was beautifully presented, tasted great with lovely fresh ingredients. Very friendly and efficient staff.
OTHER NOTES We paid on ordering, fresh water on tap flavoured with cucumber and mint, a great touch.
APPRECIATION OF CUSTOMER 8/10.
